1/29/09 Thurs: Thank You God

Dear God,

Thank you for my little one,

I know we'll have LOTS of fun!

Help me to be firm and wise,

and see things through Jayden's eyes.

Give me courage and patience too

so I'll know the right things to do.

Please show me what I need to know

so I can help my precious Jayden grow.

Thank YOU for this life you've shared

trusting me to take great care.

1/25/09 Sun: Mardi Gras

Current Mood: Festive

Jayden is fascinated with anything shiny, so Mommy and Daddy thought it would be fun to get the bead collection out for Jayden to play in.  As you can see, he was quite thrilled!  He had a blast slinging beads around the kitchen.  Look out Mardi Gras parties.....little man is coming to town with a WHOLE LATTA BEADS!

1/22/09 Thur: Pigger Poo

Wow what a pigger poo Jayden was today.  He not only ate an entire pack of banana, pear and apple....he also drank a bottle of apple juice on top of that!  He's really loving eating.  He grabs at Mommy's hand to shove the spoon in faster.  Yup, he's going to be a big eater like his Daddy.  **shudder**  Mommy is going to have to work two jobs to support his food habit!

1/21/09 Wed: FIRST STEPS!!!!!!!

YES YOU READ THAT RIGHT!  First steps....taken TODAY!  NO, Jayden is NOT crawling yet.  NO, Jayden does NOT like tummy time and fights tooth and NAIL when we put him that way.  But somehow Jayden managed to take his first steps in front of an astonished Mommy and Daddy.

Mommy was on the couch getting ready to breastfeed Jayden, while Jayden was in Daddy's arms having heart failure because his little tummy growled and he wasn't eating THAT INSTANT!  So once Mommy was ready Daddy held Jayden up by his arms and was going to PRETEND to walk him across the couch to Mommy.  Imagine the surprise when Jayden took THREE WHOLE STEPS TOWARDS MOMMY, all while crying like a banshee!  Daddy's eyes opened WIDE and Mommy shrieked!  Daddy thought it was a fluke so he grabbed Jayden and tried it again, and again Jayden took two more steps!  Pretty amazing considering the little man can't even crawl yet!  Pretty soon he'll be ruling the house and getting into everything....can't wait!

1/19/09 Mon: PEAS!

Today Jayden had his first veggie!  Mommy opened up a fresh container of MASHED PEAS!  Now, this may sound thrilling to someone who has never had them, but they looked pretty nasty to Mommy.  Kind of like the goo that used to come in fake plastic trash cans in toy stores.  It would slime down your hand and looked kinda like snot.  Yeah, that's the stuff.  But this smells better, ha ha.  Regardless of how it looked, Jayden sure loved it!  Jayden ate the ENTIRE PACKAGE!  Mommy couldn't shovel it in fast enough!  

1/4/09 Sun: TASTY!

Current Mood: SATISFIED!

Well, Mommy and Daddy already tried to feed Jayden peaches over the Christmas holiday. That didn't work because little J man still had the mouth reflex babies have where they push out whatever is in there with their tounge. So Mommy gave it another try today and SUCCESS! Jayden managed to eat a quarter or a container of pears with some rice cereal added! Here is a pic to prove it, although it didn't make quite the mess the peaches did a few weeks ago!

This is Jayden's first Christmas and it was such a special one! Jayden was a very good boy, and Santa rewarded him for all that hard work! Here you can see Jayden sitting on Santa's lap. (Granted, Santa is really Grandpa but Jayden never knew it!)

Today Mommy took some pics of Jayden in his cool new outfit that her friend Tammy got for him! As you can see, he's really liking the new threads!

He even has a Mickey Mouse doll to pose with!

Today Jayden was completely fascinated by Daddy's face! Mommy was tickled by the faced Jayden was making while exploring Daddy's mustache and cheeks. It was a completely cute and touching moment that Mommy just had to capture.
